Foliage in Focus (2025.03.16)
I changed my final project (to be posted later) so here are some of the shots I was considering
Each photo uses shallow depth of field, focused on plant-life–usually blooms

Neither of these shots displays the shallow depth of field I was going for in this project.

I really like how both of these shots display shallow depth of field with the subject clearly in focus.
Landscape Practice II (2025.03.15)
I shot more photos this morning to provide better examples for my assignment

I promise this is after sunrise! I’m sad that it’s a tad grainy.

The storm made for odd lighting today

Landscape Practice (2025.03.10)
In my ART 1050 class, I’m learning about classic and contemporary landscape photographers.
I’ll post my assignment work after I submit, but for now, here are some photos I didn’t use for my assignment.
Modernistic Landscape

Superstition Mountain
On this trip, this was the closest, and the best angle I could get.
I am staying true to the spirit of the class and only submitting photos I took for each assignment.
I have some much better examples of modernistic photos, such as here, here, and here.
Human-altered Landscape
I could also categorize this photo, taken in the Red Mountain Regional Park, as modernistic, but it also has some human-created aspects.

New-Territory Landscape
According to the class material, the New Territory movement “stretches the boundaries of traditional landscape photography to reflect the environmental attitudes, perceptions, and values” of our time.
It is defined by works such as Michael Kenna, Catherine Opie, and Hiroshi Sugimoto

This photo displays some contempt for the environment with the dumping of trash in the lower right corner along an oily dirt road.
There is more to come. After I submit my assignment, I’ll post it to the ART 1050 page.
